Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

I’m proud to announce the release of OneBusAway for Android v1.2. This latest release addresses many users’ requests and complaints:

  • Improved management of favorite stops. In addition to viewing a list of your most recent stops, you can “star” stops to manage your own list of favorites.
  • Can’t remember which stop goes downtown and which goes the other way? Now you can stops stops an easy-to-remember name you choose that will appear throughout the app.
  • Access full route schedules from the Arrival Info and Favorite screens.
  • Make home screen shortcuts directly to your Recent Stops, Starred Stops, or Recent Routes lists.
  • Improved interaction with soft keyboards.

In addition, there are some additional bug fixes:

Thank you for supporting and continuing to use OneBusAway. As always, let me know what you like, what you dislike, and if you find any bugs!

Broadway & John

Friday, March 12th, 2010

Kudos to Metro to reacting quickly to replace the closed stop at Broadway & John. It would seem that there’s more afoot than a simple lack of forethought, since Metro didn’t even have a chance to notify its drivers of the closure. So however it happened, Metro did a great job in working towards a remedy.

Unfortunately, I was riding the 8 today and the driver was still telling people to call Metro’s number to put in a stop at Harvard Ave, so the drivers apparently are still the last to know.
